This makes its breathability more effective during most climatic changes. Also, the baloo weighted blanket is entirely natural and certified vegan.

The Baloo weighted blanket is ideal for eco-friendly lovers due to its unique nature and design. It comes in three most popular weight options, accommodating most adult sleepers.

Weight and Size Options

Heavy Quilted Cotton from Baloo-min

The Baloo Weighted Blanket is available in mini, throw, lighter queen, heavier queen, and king sizes which weigh between 9lbs to 25lbs. If you require a heavier blanket, you will need to order a bigger size. Adults can choose between blankets ranging in weight from 12lbs up to 25lbs, which are meant for sharing.

Currently, Baloo weighted blankets for adults are available only in white cotton. In addition, they also sell linen duvet covers in stunning neutral colors you can purchase to cover your weighted blankets with. Kids blankets are also available in three beautiful color options.

Colors like peach, aqua, and indigo are all beautiful gender-neutral colors that will fit nicely in any kid’s room. The kid’s Baloo weighted blanket weighs approximately 9 lbs. Do some research if you are not sure if a certain weight will be appropriate for your child.

In general, weighted blankets should be around 10% of your body weight for adults. This fact seems to be a complete bullock because your body shape and the blanket dimensions will affect how the weight is distributed. The right weight has been the subject of a lot of discussions. Well, I’ve tried many weighted blankets, and all I can say is, so long as it’s not really heavy or light, it’s okay for me. Most times, I can’t even tell the difference between 15 lbs and 20 lbs, so long as it is comforting.

Baloo Weighted Blanket Sizes

  1. Throw: 12 lbs (5.4kg) 107*183 cm
  2. Full/Queen 15lbs (6.8kg) 152*203 cm
  3. Full/Queen 20lbs (9kg) 152*203 cm
  4. King: 25lbs (11.3kg) 203*221 cm

Baloo Weighted Blanket Cover

The Baloo weighted blanket has only one cover choice: French flax linen. The cover closes with wooden buttons instead of zips, something that is peculiar and strange to other weighted covers. This makes it look unique and stylish in a way. However, you should carefully choose the duvet size since they are different sizes for weighted blankets and weighted comforters.

The Baloo blanket has six loops in a blanket. The loops are big enough and easily thread the ties, making it easy to attach the covers and remove them again. I love the cover choice because of its rustic feel, while others may prefer cotton or Minky! We all have our preferences, right?

One discouraging feature about the covers is that they don’t have other cover choices and are expensive, so using just the blanket without the cover also saves expenses.

Design and Fill

Some brands like to offer different colors for the weighted blankets and the covers, which is also lovely, but the Baloo weighted blankets only come in white, which looks elegant. The cover of the internal blanket is made with premium cotton, and it feels very soft, so it can be used without the duvet cover. It’s so great as you can save more money by buying only the weighted insert.

These days, most weighted blankets fill are glass microbeads rather than plastic. However, Baloo confirms they are Hypoallergenic without much information backing it up. The beads are contained in small double-stitched pockets, and each pocket contains a small amount of cotton bat.

As cheesy as it may sound, Baloo weighted blanket is the only weighted blanket that uses 100% cotton for internal covers and fills with zero polyesters. This means that it makes sleeping even cooler than most weighted blankets. The beads tend to move around more in their pockets because of the minimal amount of fiberfill, so get ready to see them piling up in the corners and edges of each section.

This may be an inconvenience to you. However, I prefer that to other thicker covers and denser fills, as the beads often get stuck in the corners. But with Baloo, the beads are free to move and hug your body in any position.

Baloo gives quality where the design is needed. However, it looks better and feels better than other brands I’ve used in the past. Note this. However, the first version of Baloo had polyester batting, but in 2020, they replaced this polyester batting for pure cotton only, which is a very good feature, in my own opinion.

Cleaning the Baloo Weighted Blanket

Some other brands of weighted blankets need to be spot cleaned or dry cleaned, but that’s not the case for Baloo weighted blankets. It supports machine washing and dry cleaning. It comes out pretty fine if you prefer washing by machine.

Overall Performance

Choosing weighted blankets should consider the materials of the fill and shell, the distribution of the fill, durability, temperature regulation, and the available options for weight. Baloo’s weighted blanket is made of premium cotton shells, cotton batting, and glass beads, allowing it to last longer than its competitors’ plastic pellets and polyester shells.

In terms of material quality and temperature regulation, the Baloo Weighted Blanket is at its finest. This blanket is breathable with an all-natural shell made of quilted cotton and a glass microbead fill, limiting heat absorption and reducing overheating. With cotton batting, however, the Baloo Weighted Blanket also provides a soft, cozy feel, which should help keep sleepers warm once temperatures drop. There are squares and rectangular pockets throughout the blanket, preventing the glass beads from bunching up and pooling.
